INTRODUCING THE BELAC

2008 EQUINE WELLNESS PROGRAM

As a valued client, we would like to invite you to take advantage of our Equine Wellness Program. Clients who have participated in our wellness programs in the past have really appreciated the high quality service, the improved health of their horses, and the significant savings the programs afford.

The purpose of our wellness program is to provide your horse with personalized disease prevention and health maintenance services at an affordable price. Regular examinations by a veterinarian can detect many ailments that, when recognized and treated early, can prevent more serious problems from developing.

How the Program Works

To make things more convenient and inclusive for you, we have made some changes to our program this year. We have consolidated our two programs into one all-inclusive program with many options to suit your horse’s particular needs. In this year’s program there are two mandatory appointments: Spring and Fall. The Summer appointment is optional and can be added if you vaccinate for Rabies, Potomac Horse Fever, and/or Strangles. As in the past, you need to choose one of the two de-worming programs offered—strategic paste worming or daily Strongid C.

Performance Horse Evaluations

(Appointment to take place between January 1 st and March 15th)

We are excited to offer an additional optional appointment designed to fit the needs of your performance horse! This appointment is designed for those horses that are asked to perform at a high athletic level. We will perform a complete soundness examination including musculoskeletal palpation, joint evaluation, gait evaluation, and flexion tests. You may want to include one or more of the x-ray series available to establish a baseline for the future and/or detect early changes before they become a problem. If radiographs are indicated or requested during your Performance Horse Soundness Evaluation, you will receive 20% off our regular x-ray cost for that series when you pay at the time of service.
